Photographs don't do justice to his gorgeous color - he is truly the color of a fine glass of Cognac. With only 10 months of growth between shearings, his fleece weighed in at over 7 pounds. Mixtli is a gorgeous, medium rose gray, with a rare bloodline combination. His sire is Snowmass Red Hot Cognac, a traditional Incan type alpaca with elite, dark fawn fleece, carrying 5Peruvian Ajoyani and 6Peruvian Silent Night, some of the finest black bloodlines imported from Peru. Mixtli’s dam is a very fine-fleeced white girl with the gray bloodlines of FDA Paladin, and black bloodlines, as well. Mixtli’s fleece placed 2nd at 2009 AOBA World Fleece Show. Cameron Holt gave Mixtli’s fleece a perfect 20 score on fineness and handle. He also placed second in halter behind the color champion at the 2009 Topeka show.

Mixtli has produced a mix of colors. True Black, silver gray, rose gray, and even white, with a wisp of gray in the tail. His 2013 grey boy won Mixed Male Championship at the 2014 Houston Livestock ALSA Halter Show and Second Place Juvenile Gray Male at the 2014 TXOLAN Spectacular.

Unfortunately, Mixtli died this year while I was out of town. This posting is for reference only.
